Service is essential to our recovery. No amount of service is too small – and it’s never too early to begin. If you don’t yet have your 90 days, are you consistently raising your hand to read at your meetings? If you do have your 90 days, are you raising your hand to share and allowing those without 90 days to read?

Courtney G., Chair:

It’s hard to be brief when there is so much inspiring outreach happening across our fellowship, and I look forward to sharing stories from YOUR area about how your local groups are spreading the FA message. Please email me the details. Meanwhile, I hope the following highlights will support your service efforts this month:

  • A great way to bring newcomers to FA Information Sessions is to facilitate an article about FA in the local news media and include dates of upcoming Info Sessions in the articles and blurbs.

  • Online registration is now open for the November 15-16 Chapter, Region, and Meeting Support Weekend at the Marriott in Peabody, MA. Get the full scoop and sign up at Members with 90+ days of abstinence can inquire about financial aid by emailing: Applications are due by September 7.

  • Please inform the 12th Step Committee by October 6 if your meeting would like to host a Thank-a-thon at Thanksgiving, so that your meeting can be listed online.

  • Please join me in welcoming (and maybe even visiting?) our new meetings in Lyndhurst, OH; Overland Park, KS; Plantation, FL; and Limburg, Germany.

Note: In response to requests from meetings outside the U.S., EAI is now able to accept donations online. Due to administrative fees, however, we encourage meetings within the States to continue to submit donations by check via snail mail.

Thank you, everyone, for your service!

12th Step

Reggie M., Chair:

As late summer turns into fall, we would like to encourage all areas to participate in a Thank A Thon scheduled for Thanksgiving Day. A Thank A Thon is a series of meetings held back-to-back and is a wonderful service to the local fellowship and out-of-town guests. Deb H. is the Thank A Thon coordinator for this year. Additional details are on the FA website under Eastern-area-intergroup/12 step committee page. Thank A Thon times, locations and contacts received  before October 6th will receive free materials and be included in the EAI monthly report.
